System Availability

The SmartTrack solution is supported by Imarda 24 hours a day, seven days a week, making it one of the most accessible fleet management solutions available. This is backed by a 24/7 monitoring system with active fault alerts and 1300 support line.

In addition the Server platform is automatically monitored 24 hours a day with staff on call.

Support

Any online or email logged, received during office hours, is responded to by the Imarda Helpdesk. This helpdesk is manned during normal business hours 8.30am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.

In addition a 1300 Telephone support is available 24x7 for all urgent issues.

GPS Power Option

To ensure customers have constant and reliable access to GPS vehicle tracking data, alternative power supply options are available. This includes new solar technology that is contained in a weatherproof and rugged housing unit that is mounted on the underside of the trailer. On Dry wall trailers the V300 GPS device can be mounted within an IP66 rated enclosure within the trailer.

GPS Vehicle Tracking System Accuracy

The SmartTrack solution has the ability to support a high level of accuracy for geofence positions, way points, and location. The Vector 300 GPS vehicle tracking device uses a SiRF Star III, 20 channel operation.

To gain Positional Accuracy SmartTrack offers a 10m Circular Error Performance (CEP) without Space Augmentation SA of 95%.

Real-Time Vehicle Tracking

A core function of the SmartTrack solution is the real-time vehicle tracking feature that provides the customer with visibility of their fleet from any internet connected PC. The SmartTrack tracking unit is a core function run on the device fitted within each vehicle. The device is fitted out-of-sight ensuring it cannot be easily tampered with or removed.

The real-time vehicle tracking function is an interactive and flexible feature allowing customers to move from a macro to micro map view, and from individual vehicles to entire vehicle fleets. Access to data in this mode offers a full suite of historical reports including trip reports, location reports, and speed reports.

Vehicle tracking systems improve security and safety, improve driver habits, reduce insurance premiums, and provide peace of mind.

Driver Behaviour

SmartTrack includes a vehicle monitoring system with the ability to remotely monitor speeding and harsh breaking as part of Imarda's standard feature set. The automatic vehicle location system records the speed of the vehicle at each position and updates this in conjunction with the maximum speed between position locations. A maximum acceptable speed can be set and a set of exception rulings can be generated. Standard parameters for excessive braking are set to a braking force of the greater than 15 meters per second, meaning any rapid reduction in speed will be noted as an exception.

Security Alerts

As a standard feature, SmartTrack's automatic vehicle location system provides security alerts via email to identified users. SMS options are also available if required. The SmartTrack system can monitor the status of any on-board sensor and can be coupled with the SmartTrack out-of-the-box Temperature Monitoring System (complete with threshold alarms), Imarda's Man Down and Distress Alarm systems and Door Open/Close sensors.

Man Down & Distress Alarm

The SmartTrack vehicle monitoring system utilises a state-of-the-art remote Man Down and Distress Alarm which provides a driver with security support up to 300m from their vehicle. The belt-worn transmitter is handy and easy to use. The standard version offers several ways of activating the alarm. Dependent on the situation, the driver can transmit using the red alarm button. Two pushes activates an alarm that is transmitted to the vehicle, which sends an alarm notification with automatic vehicle location details to the SmartTrack system which in turn relays the information directly on to a pre-defined receiver of data.

For extra personal safety, there is a pull-cord that activates the emergency alarm when detached from the transmitter, e.g. when the transmitter is forcefully taken from a person. To avoid false alarms, a warning tone sounds before automatic alarms are transmitted.

These special safety features are ideal for 'Duty of Care Regulations' and provide drivers with peace of mind when working or operating machinery in remote or threatening situations.

Integration

The SmartTrack vehicle tracking solution has been deployed in thousands of vehicles over many years. However Imarda’s expertise also extends to customised and integrated gps fleet management solutions allowing for SmartTrack to be combined into a customer's backend application. In addition to providing a full end-to-end GPS fleet management solution SmartTrack can also be integrated into back office applications, allowing customers to access SmartTrack directly from their office systems. Back Up of Data

SmartTrack fleet management solutions have the ability to store and archive all customer data indefinitely; however the data is only held 'live' on our system for 6 months, after which time it is filed and available for download only.

Server/Data Security

SmartTrack offers fully secure offsite data storage. In the case of a server fault a full redundant server system is available preventing loss of vehicle tracking data or service. We have multiple internet links with different upstream carriers. In addition 24 X 7 support is provided by Dell with a 4 hour service level agreement and 24 hour SAN monitoring by EMC with a 4 hour service level agreement.

Vehicle Arrival and Departure Tracking

SmartTrack vehicle tracking systems capture date and time data in real-time. This allows customers to monitor and communicate with specific vehicles and vehicle fleets on arrival and departure from identified depots/distribution centres.

This is achieved through the use of geofences that utilise actual coordinates of a specific location. The geofences are simply set-up via the SmartTrack user website by defining the desired area and mapping it. Furthermore, one geofence can be set up within another. For example, an entire distribution centre can be set as one geofence and the gatehouse, loading dock etc within that geofence can be established independently as a second geofence.

When used in conjunction with the SmartTrack Vehicle Tracking solution, SmartTrack provides the tools to identify and communicate with the 'best available' vehicle to complete the job. Fast two-way text communication allows customers to send job details directly to a specific vehicle enabling businesses to gain real time job status and other vital information. Dispatch Communication can be sent directly from the SmartTrack internet based vehicle tracking systems or directly to and from the customer's back office application.

Trailer Tracking

SmartTrack provides effective scheduling of trailer fleets allowing customers to track trailer location in real time and log where each trailer is picked up and dropped off. This information can be loaded directly into in-house systems to enhance scheduling or can be simply used as a standalone trailer tracking and management system.

Temperature Monitoring

SmartTrack can monitor the temperature of refrigeration units in real-time. This provides businesses with the ability to proactively respond to unintended temperature changes. To monitor trailer temperature requires the installation of an independent temperature probe in the trailer. Temperature thresholds can be set for both 'under' and 'over' temperature readings.

This feature is essential for 'Duty of Care' Regulations and can directly reduce company insurance policy costs. The SmartTrack Temperature Monitoring device can be used as a standalone system or integrated into back end trailer and vehicle monitoring systems.

Driver ID

The SmartTrack Driver ID system allows real time information identifying which driver is driving which vehicle. The Driver ID is linked to historical reports that can be analysed to show driver work hours, where the vehicle was driven, distance travelled while driving, exception reports during driving period, number of jobs completed etc.
