Fleet Tracking Solutions company, Imarda, has today announced another substantial deal with Australian construction conglomerate Boral Limited. The contract is for a minimum of 1,000 of Imarda's SmartTrack vehicle tracking units over at least a three year period. It is in addition to products Imarda has already installed across Boral's Australian transport and construction operations and reflects Boral's improved productivity and cost savings since introducing the system. It also follows the recent announcement, by Imarda, of a US$10Million fleet tracking deal with a major US trucking company.
Boral has been an Imarda customer for over the past six years and has worked with Imarda to develop what it believes is a market leading fleet management system. "Boral is one of our most important customers in the Australian region. Our relationship has enabled Imarda to complete a significant, ground breaking, development in integrating its vehicle tracking system with Boral's Command Alkon concrete management system and Oracle's Sidewinder," says Simon Illingworth, Imarda Director and VP Sales Asia Pacific.
Boral anticipates making considerable cost savings through productivity gains following the further implementation of Imarda's vehicle tracking technology and has been impressed with the seamless integration with its existing software systems. "We are also looking to being able to more effectively monitor compliance across all aspects of driver safety, specifically meeting the legislative requirements being introduced around driver fatigue," says Andrew Rosengren, General Manager of Boral Transport.
Boral is listed on the Australian stock exchange with interests in Australia, the USA and South East Asia. Illingworth believes that Boral demonstrates a market leading attitude, globally, when it comes to implementing tracking technology. "I believe they are at the forefront of fleet tracking and management in the construction industry," he says. "We are currently working on other transport and construction industry initiatives with Boral that we anticipate being able to roll out shortly."
